What We Do
For newcomers to the U.S., linguistic or cultural barriers often serve to further exclude families from the financial mainstream.
The International Rescue Committee’s Center for Economic Opportunity (CEO) is a unique non-profit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Loan Fund that specializes in making flexible, affordable consumer and microenterprise loans to borrowers with little access to traditional financing. Our loans are made from within trusted local community organizations and are offered in tandem with related trainings and services. We help borrowers build assets, capitalize on opportunities, and transition into the financial mainstream.

Our Impact
In the U.S., climbing the economic ladder is much harder without access to affordable financing. Yet too many families are limited to high-interest, predatory loans that further squeeze already-tight budgets.
